That's what I was afraid of. It would seem that there's no Scirocco
that can be (legally) made to match the weight of the DSP rabbits.
Geoff Zimmer's Rabbit weighs in around the high 1700s (I saw the
scale readout) and my Scirocco weighs right around 1900 even - and
try as I might, I can't find much (other than bumpers) that he's
taken off his car that I haven't taken off mine.

This means, of course, that I will most likely be purchasing a local
'77 non-sunroof Rabbit for next year's car, and the Scirocco will be
no more (it's got big rust holes, anyway).

Out of curiousity (this is directed at Gordon, mainly), are the
chrome bumpers just like the old Rabbit chrome bumpers? I.e, they
don't have the reinforcing channel on the inside? Also, did your '75
come with the undercoating? I keep hearing people say
"dealer-installed" undercoating, and if was possible to get a
Rabbit/Scirocco without that crap, off it comes.

Wouldn't two wipers give you more desirable left-right weight
distribution anyway? :)
