The jack works well but I also add a chisel to the procedure . 
What I do from the beginning , removal that is , is to take a metal working 
chisel and after I get the bolt out of the ball joint I pound it in the that 
gap on the rear of the mount.  Usually the ball joint and control arm will 
just drop out , but sometimes a little persuasion with the mallet helps too . 
Installation is just as easy , where it sounds like you are just pound one in 
there and jack up on the bottom of the control arm end .
