Minor correction:
1983 started with the 1715 cc engine. Starting with
the then new "Wolfsburg Edition", VW delivered them
with 1784 JH motors. So 1983.5 Sciroccos had the 1.8.
Just for fun, the exact displacement of the motors is
as follows:
1975 1471cc
1976,1977,1979,1980 1588cc
1978 1457cc
1981,1982,1983 (early) 1715cc
1983.5,1984-1988 1781cc
Of course, this is U.S. market only . . .
