<x-charset ISO-8859-1>Going on that information, either the VW data is inconsistent or perhaps shells were built and assigned with a VIN number and then took a few weeks or months to filter through to assembly. According to your VIN, your car was built sometime in August 1985, which is a couple of months before the records show even the euro 16v engines being fitted, never mind the later U.S. spec engines.
