Sounds like the seal in the middle of the drive flange
is bad. (Black round thing in the center the size of a
silver dollar) This allows gear oil in the the CV.
(not so good)  Not uncommen.  You can replace the seal
for a few dollars.  Check you local VW parts store. 
By the way what is "lychee"?
