Its my understanding that the 1.8T in the Audi's has so many tuning options
because it isn't "drive-by-wire".  The VW engine won't be nearly as tunable
on account of the potential legal issues associated with "monkeying" with
the electronic management.

I like the 5V engines as much as the next guy, but personally I would spend
the extra cash on the Audi engine.
