first repair! success...

<x-charset iso-8859-1>	I'm sure you guys doing engine swaps and stuff like that will laugh when
you see this, but I don't mind..  I've been driving for less than a year,
and a scirocco owner for about 7 months (wow.. it seemed way longer) and in
the last hour, I've done my first major repair (as in not just putting
coolant in or something).
	A few weeks ago, I let my girlfriends dad "fix" my worn power steering pump
belt..  ever since then its been squealing when the car turned and it
finally broke (a few miles from home, thankfully).  So I bought a new belt,
and spend an hour monkeying around figuring out how to do it... now for the
first time in a while, the belt is actually properly tightened and working
:)  I also figured out where the idle screw is, and so now my car doesnt
idle at 1600 anymore... can anyone tell me the correct idle for a 87 16v??
I just guessed at 1000...
anyways! pats on the back are welcomed!
