Dang it Eric, you really know how to make me mad! I just had to 
spend a butt load of money (for me anyways) because my MK2 
just blew a headgasket, and so did I.  I'd like to get a kit, but alas I 
don't have the funds now.  That would of been the one thing to put 
my car a step above the other mars red '81 S 2.0L 16v in town.

I was planning on replacing the heater core the night it happened. 
One of the heater hoses I had capped of blew out the cap and lost 
all coolant before I had a chance to notice it.  So now I'm replacing 
all the "since your there" parts and then some, motor mount, 
radiator (I've done everything else in the cooling system), TT 
manifold and downpipe (had it lying around), Autotech exhuast and 
maybe a few other things to be determined.
