Autopower makes a roll bar for the Mk1, or at least they did at one
point, I used to have one.

Go for a whole roll cage.
If you can't find a bolt in cage, there are shops that do custom cages.
I want a custom roll cage for my '79 Scirocco, instead of the rear bars
being bolted to the inner fender, I want them to run all the way to the
rear bumper bolts, with a crossbar that connects the rear strut towers
together.
