Sunroof prob

I have the classic Scirocco sunroof dilemma. Mine is a fucking piece of
crap. :D Anyways, it slides, but it doesn't tilt and it won't close all the
way... there is mabye a 1/4 inch gap keeping the roof from closing all the
way and making a complete seal. Anyone had this prob and fixed it? Should I
just rebuild the damn thing? TIA
Oh, and for those who care, the car is prolly 50% sanded now. Looking to
primer it in a few weeks. Final color will be Tornado Red with a thick
clear coat and a touch of pearl for a mega-reflective look.
