Re: 2.oL

It seems that I may be able to easily sell both my old 1.8l 16v shortblock
*and* the 2.0l 16v block that I bought back in July. So, I've been
considering going the ABA tallblock route for some more power. Yeah, it'll
take some extra figgerin' with the belts, pullys, and stuff, but there seems
to be a bit more power and smoothness potential.

Share some thoughts on this, please? The compression would have to be
increased, too. I'm going all motor right now, so the 8:1 that I'd be left
with by just mating the 8v ABA block with a 16v head is not going to be
enough. Any ideas? I figure that it'll have to be done in either the pistons
or the head. I'm *not* going to install forged pistons and the expense is
more than I can handle in the first place. However, is decking the head to
that extent safe or even optimal for that matter?

As for the hood clearance, I've got a guy who can help me adapt the throttle
body/intake plenum to fit. Hell, he's made a few 16v turbo kits in his
backyard; this should be easy! Well, lemme know. Peace...
