Doh!!  You guys are truly of the anointed to take such abuse and not let it 
sour you.  Lucky for me, my time with the beloved scirocco has been 
relatively painless.  I got my car over three and a half years ago and have 
only had to nurture what I assume was a well cared for rocc (other than the 
POS paint job that is flaking off like viral dandruff).  This car has taken 
me, without complaint, on the long journey from here in central NC to NE Ohio 
countless times over the past few years and has an estimated (odometer died) 
200+K  on the clock!!  So yes, my poor unfortunate brothers, there do exist 
some exemplary and stubbornly reliable roccs.  I am fortunate to own one of 
them... because with enough pestering even true love can turn to hate.
