Every now and then, my oil light comes on.  (I have a VDO gauge and grounded 
the lead to the sensor)  To shut it off, I take my hand, raise it to about 
eye level, and slam the top of the dash!  the light goes off and won't come 
back on for a week or so...  beats taking the dash apart to fix the problem!
