help! tie rod

Hello everyone,

Have a question. . .how do you disconnect the tie rod?
 I need to replace the steering boot, and I've been
pounding on the thing for an hour and can't get it
off.  I took off the cotter pin and bolt, tried to use
a fork thingy tool to pry the thing loose.  That
didn't work.  tried jacking on the bottom of the bolt
and sledge hammering down on the spindle piece, and
that hasn't worked either.  Any ideas?
