I personnally love my 2.0 16v in my MK1 . 
I bought it with unknown mileage from a burnt car and used the scirocco 16v 
conversion parts . The only "high performance" mod done to it far is a 
complete TT race exhaust . Six hours after the conversion I managed a 14.9 
Qtr . and on the dyno I put 126 hp to the road . 
The most expensive part of the conversion was the new exhaust .
