painting advice needed

 Hey all, i'm going to be painting up some bits and pieces that are going
onto the new engine tonight.  I've already bead blasted the parts down to
the metal.  Anyone have any tips on painting?  I'm clear coating some parts,
and others i though't i'd just go with a gloss black tremclad paint (for
stuff like the fan motor and fan shroud).

   Any tips out there.  should i give it a light sanding first on the smooth
surfaces that are being painted?
