205's will work on a Scirocco, I didn't mean to imply that they would not.
I run 205's myself. However, I would bet money that Joshs' 205/50's
buldge out more to the side and upward then a 205/45, that is what is
probably causing the rubbing. Rim offset naturally has a great effect
also...Josh, what's the exact width and offset of your 15's?
Oh, and the spacers behind the stub axles would probably work fine, I
think someone here discussed doing that once already. Just be sure to
replace the stub axle bolts with a higher grade bolt. Since they're
a little bit longer, they might be subjected to more tornsional stress
(longer moment arm).
