Dude that sucks, sorry for your pain.

Is it at all salvageable? Have you figured out the cause? I forget, but 
did you put it all together or did a mechanic do it. If someone else did 
it, I suggest going blockbuster on 'em (that's when someone explodes in 
a fit of fury at the incompetent and I-could-care-less attitude of the 
clerk behind the "service" counter at said movie rental store). They 
gotta have some kind of guarantee of their work.
