Fuel Pump

How can I tell if my fuel pump is about to 'die'.  It's lound as hell, I
get lousy fuel mileage, motor doesn't idle properly and it stalls on me
when I drag out my gears and I then come to a stop.  BTW, the car also
seems to'choke' when I attempt to accelerate.  Fuel pump woes?
