I assume you really mean diesel crank. No, it's not the same as
the 2L crank. The stock 2L crank throws 92.8mm, while the Turbo
Diesel crank throws 95.5mm. The crank and rod journals are the
same (as far as I know) between them. That means that the
crank will ride in the stock bearings, and could use stock
rods. I'm not sure you could _use_ the stock rods due to the
longer throw (might push the piston right out of the top of the
block) so the (shorter?) diesel rods might be needed.
The displacement with this crank on a stock 2L would be:
83 * 83 * 3.14 * 95.5 / 1000 = 2065.8cc.
2nd overbore would make that:
83.5 * 83.5 * 3.14 * 95.5 / 1000 = 2090.7cc
This would be called a 2.1L by many. Including VW. :) They call
the 1780ish cc motor a 1.8L and the 1984cc motor a 2.0L. That's
one of the reasons I had mine bored to 2008cc, as _now_ I have
a 2L... :-)
