Re: Plate speakers
Blaupunkt makes some decent PCX 4.6 with euro &
american mounting plates (or no mounting plates - 3
options w/ speakers) They are 50$/set thru
Crutchfield. I don't know how they would sound in the
front, but they are pretty sweet in the back. That &
the versatility of mounting options is a plus...
Also, 5.5" components in the front are SchWEET - no
kick panels needed. When I installed mine the first
one took around 4 hours of fiddle-farting around to get
it in, and the 2nd door took about 40minutes. I really
need to post some pix of it, because it isn't hard at
all - you only need to snip a little door metal
(nothing vital), and it looks almost stock (especially
if you get cool 'ol flush-mount tweeters). But, as
with almost any door speakers, you won't get the bass
outta da front that you will on the back shelf...
Total tools needed - 1 phillips screwdriver, 1
box-cutter, 1 set of tin-snips/nibblers.
If'n you decide to do that, I can send you some lynx to
sites with pix, and answer any ??s you might have...
