i think that your friend needs some clarification on the subject.  the
2.0 was never offered in an A1 16V, just the A2.  furthermore (and i'll
need some backup on this one) the 2.0 was never offered in europe.

	the reason i say this is cuz i was reading one of the more recent
issues of PVW, and they state in there something about how "those lucky
north americans got the 2.0 16V rightout of the box".  this struck me as
odd, and i guess now is as good a time as any to ask everyone here if
indeed this is true.  was the 2.0L 16V only an option in north america? 
if so, it would explain why most of the 16V in the mags are 1.8, or
1.9...
