Hatch Lock

Here's one that I've never heard someone talk about...

For about three months, I haven't had access to my trunk.  The reason
being, my key won't open the hatch lock.  The key works fine in the
ignition and in the door locks.  The key did once work on the hatch lock
and now, nothing.  Question:  how can I get the hatch lock open; once I get
the hatch opened and the lock out, can I get it fixed?  

I don't recall someone having this problem, but maybe someone can guide me
as to how to rectify this minor crisis (actually, I want to sell the
speaker box).
