Anyone know the parts and costs for upgrading a 3spd auto to something newer
like a 5spd auto from a nineties VW?

Mike, I just scored a deal for a 1997 Golf 5-speed with all the linkage 
included for 700 dollars!!! Canadian!!! Anyways my mechanic wanted 500 to 
install it so it comes out to 12 bills. I get the  car back Monday -- can't 
wait!!!

I, too, was a 3-spd POS auto guy... and then I came to my senses.
