Yep. I just bought a quart of grey and a bottle of Metal Prep for $40. The
stuff likes to be painted on rust (it has 'tooth')- so the Metal Prep is for
putting it onto shiny metal. Even tho POR-15 is self leveling (no brush
strokes), it CANNOT be sanded. Its like rock. From the literature I just
got, CLEAR should be used on exterior surfaces because it goes on the
smoothest. Soooo, you would need to remove the winsheild, blast or wire
wheel the rusty spot, Metal Prep the surrounding areas that are shiny,
slather on some POR-15 CLEAR, hit it with a product called TIE-COAT to make
real paint stick to that slippery POR finish, then paint and re-install the
winsheild.
This stuff rocks. It will turn weird colors (black turns purple) if its
exposed to UV light too much, so they sell something called BLACKCOAT to get
that 'correct' chassis black. Visit http://www.por-15.com for more info...
