Timing Belt Cover

Ok here's my stupid question of the day, I went out to change my valve cover
gasket today, and I took all 8 nuts off, then i tried to get the timing belt
cover off.  The only think left holding it is a round metal thing with a
rubber ring behind it, but it has no bolt head or hex head or anything.
just a hole in the middle, but it's a round hole.  anyone know how to get
this off????  it's an 86 8v with a JH engine
