Yes. DEFINITELY do this! I used 4 relays in my system, and you can hear
them switch on if you're standing near the front of the car when the
lights are turned on. You can also hear the engine drop for an instant
before it adjusts the idle to compensate for the power drain on the
alternator. I can't imagine what that would do to the stock wiring with no
relays...
