Idle adgustment screw

The strangest thing is happening with my idle adjustment screw, it
adjusts on its own.  I'll be driving, when I need to stop the idle has
changed, sometimes so drasticly the car stalls.  I have to pull over,
pop the hood and adjust the screw.  At times the screw has turned all
the way to either the high or low end.  I'm trying to keep it at the
high end (1700 to 2000 rpm idle) so I wont stall out.

Any comments or suggestions....anyone....anyone.
