my first Mk1!!!!
Its finaly a reality. I have just bought my first Mk1. A 1980 Scirocco
with an 85 8V in it. Also the 5 speed tranny. Both from another
scirocco. Its got sway bars, strut braces, header, rebuilt motor,
semi-performance exhaust, and believe it or not it is rust free. This is
New England. I have NEVER seen a rust free Mk1 near me. It is a
California car and the owner tells me these cars are all over Cali and
the junkyards are filled with rust free examples. So Cali, here I
come... The car needs paint and some interior work so I got plenty to
do. I'll have thousands of questions some I'm sure you've heard a
million times but forgive me, I never read the threads on the old
Rocco's before. Here is my first questions. What are the common problems
on these cars? What should I do to it first. And how do you get the mono
wiper to stop and stay in the middle of the windshield? More to follow.
Also this means my 88 is going to be for sale. Its an excellent car I
would not sell if I had storage but... If interested please email
