Re: Another AC question
You can replace the clutch without discharging the system. In the center
of the clutch there's a retaining bolt. The hard part is getting this bolt
out then pulling the clutch off the tapered/keyed shaft. Chances are you'll
need a special puller but as the current clutch is toast, you may be able to
grab the rotating portion with something. Just don't whack it with a BFH
and risk bending the compressor shaft. Clutches aren't cheap
either...$90-$100 last time I looked.
