EZ engine code

Hello - I am planning to swap the engine in my 77 MK1 - I can
get a very nice sounding 1.6L carbed one with low mileage for
very little money. I am just wondering if anyone here on the list
could give me the specs for the 1.6 EZ carburator engine as
neither Haynes, nor other books i have seems to be specific 
about it. What i kike to know is primarily
Horsepower , Mech or Hyd lifters , SOHC or DOHC  but
all info appreciated. Regards.
