Ok, after reading the bosch book here is my understanding of the aux air reg.
The unit is thermostatic. Durring the first few minutes of operation it lets
extra air into the intake, raising the idle a little and helping the car warm
up more quickly. As the unit becomes warm either from the heat of the engine
or from the electrical conector on it, (merely heats and closes the valve),
the valve closes. I supose you could bypass the unit and it would not
interfear with the car fireing up. However not having it should effect how
the car runs before it's warm. Anyone who wants to corect me please do!
