Tough choices with no clear winners.
Scirocco - IMHO, I'd opt for a Mk1 Scirocco vs the Mk2. It's lighter
and smaller but significantly more rust prone.
Miata - Helluva choice although I don't think I'd want one as a daily
driver. A buddy bought one as a mid-life crisis car to drive daily -
he loves it (and so do his kids) but I think it's a bit small. The
best part is that the cars are easy on components b/c of their
miniscule weight - race rubber lasts forever and so do the engines.
Suzuki Swift GTi - hhmm, that's the car that's been kickin' ass in ITB
locally. If I recall, 1.6L 16v. That would be a nice choice too -
especially if you want something that looks like everything else, only
different. I have a buddy that races a DSR Lola that uses the Samurai
engine - same bottom end if I recall but 1.3L - very strong motor.
Again, like the Miata, it should last quite a while due to a lack of
stress on the components.
Nissan NX 2000 - Not a bad car but like the Suzuki, not overly common.
Haven't had much experience with these wonders so I'll refrain from
making a bigger ass out of myself.
Good Luck!
