Ken,

    After the 6th or so time I had a bead put on the cat heat shield, I took it
off.  The rattling was driving me nuts.  It doesn't harm the car, but increases
the risk of fire.  Because the cat can get so hot, I wouldn't recommend it if
you park on top of loose brush, newspapers, carpet, etc.  I rent my house, so I
didn't care.
