'82 Scirocco coming up for sale

A friend of mine recently acquired an '82 Scirocco and we put a 
1.8L in it from is trashed '86.  One problem though, the car hadn't 
been registered in some time, 4 years.  The car is in decent shape. 
No major body work needed.  The passenger front fender is 
showing signs of age, minor surface rust spots.  The interior has 
the usual signs of age, a tear on the driver's seat.  It's also got 15" 
Corvette look-a-like wheels on it. At the moment, he really needs 
money an can't afford to register it right away.  He's a carpenter 
though and needs transportation to get a job. If he can sell it for 
near $1000, he'll be happy.  Anybody interested?  It's located on 
the central coast of California.
