You are both right, and may this may still be the correct diagnosis.

The problem here is words, It is not vapor lock. It's a bad accumulator
leading to poor restarting.

I don't believe a fuel injected VW can truly have vapor lock.

Weather this is really the problem or not I'm not sure.
