Subject: [tech] torque on headgasket?
Date: Tue, 16 Feb 1999 10:59:29 PST
Hey Chris
I get that slimmy white stuff during the winter in maine. my vws
have always done this I believe it is condensation from being hot and
then cold and so forth.

Tony
uh oh...
OK.
I did the headgasket on the uGLI and I know I followed the Bently
correctly.
Does the VW Motorsport 'group a' headgasket take anymore torque than the
stock one?
The reason I ask is , under my oil cap Im getting 'maynoaise'- thats a
sign of coolant getting into the system, right? Could it be left over
solvent from when I cleaned all the metal chips out of it (aftermatch
porting)?
If I look into the coolant resovior, I don't see any oil- but then
again, I don't know what to look for.
Can I just crank in some more torque into the bolts?
HELP!
