Wheels/tires - heeeeelp! :-)

I have an '87 Scirocco 8v, that is 100% stock.  All the way down to the
13" wheels.  I recently found out I have a bent wheel (and I think I know
the pothole where that happened...), so I'm in the market for new
wheels/tires.

I've been looking at your basic 5-point star design, and I'm looking for
advice on good quality wheels/tires.  I'd like to go to a 195-50R15
tire/wheel setup, but I want to make sure that what I buy doesn't run the
wheelwell, etc., etc.  

Any/all advice would be greatly appreciated, as I'm planning on buying
these next week..

As far as budget goes, I'm trying to keep it under $800.  I'm in the
Atlanta area, so if anyone knows of a particular store around here that
does a good job, let me know.
