There used to be several choices, the Neuspeed bar seems to be the
most common and available at this point in time. OPM might still make
one, and Autotech makes one too, but it's not double braced (whether the
additional bracing makes the Neuspeed bar any better is anyones guess,
the Autotech bar is made of larger tubing and requires drilling...).
Just about any one of them help control the A1 upper chassis flex, I
think I remember someone doing a test once with an 83 GTI...they setup
a pencil/graph system which 'drew' deflections of the shock towers on paper
during hard driving. I believe they saw movement up to an inch, which
is quite a lot of flex actually. In addition, almost _no_ deflection
at all occured at the rear shock towers, calling into some question the
usefullness of the rear shock tower brace...
