Phew... sounds like a lot of work to me... A new head would be in order,
since there are probably no injector holes in the EW. A new intake
manifold, throttle body, fuel pump, pressure regulator, etc etc etc... You
could probably find the whole kitten kaboodle on an old car, but then
there's still the issue of wiring... though there's not that much with the
CIS.
It might be easier (and cheaper (and quicker)) just to get a better carb,
and a free flow exhaust system... maybe, MAYBE a JH engine or something...
I used to have a Rabbit with a 1.8 and a Weber carb, and the thing kicked
all kinds of butt. I had it up to 120 once.
