I had almost the same thing happen to me, turned out that the timing
belt 
slipped so the timing was off.  I would also suggest checking the dist
cap, 
and or taking off 1 plug wire at a time and starting the car with 3
plugs
connected.  One time the car had the number 1 cylinder firing all the
time 
and it wouldnt start.  Carbon build up on the cap.  HTH...
