I finally broke down and had my 15X7 "Hamburg" rims (thanks Mark @ 
Adiron!) shod with Pirelli 195/50-15 rubber and placed onto my MK2.

What a difference in appearance! 

The guy in front of me turned out to be an SCCA racer - he races a 1980 
Scirocco - small world. You gotta love a car that gets people to come 
and talk . . .

I'll get some pics in the next week or so and put 'em up somewhere . . .
