Crappy Idle...

My car idles like crap. It is very erratic. It will fluctuate between about 
1100 to 800 rpms, whether the car is cold or warm. Every once in a while it 
will go up to 1800 rpms and hold there for about 30 seconds and then drop 
back down. I just got a new distributor put in and had the timing and mixture 
set. What could this be? Other than at idle, the car runs great... It is a 
16v 2.0L with CIS-E..
