Brad,

Ive attempted to die seats and other interior cloth before and I dont
recommend it.
The stuff eventually starts wearing off the more you get in and out of the
seat. Its not that it will come off on your pants but that you have to keep
touching it up and redying it.

I disagree.
If you clean the seats THOROUGHLY, I mean REALLY clean them with some simple
green and water, there should be no problem with the dye coming off.
I was worried about this in the uGLI (god rest its soul), so I didn't do the
drivers seat, just the passenger. My GF often drives with me, so it does get
used. At first I put a white sheet over it so i could see if any of it was
transferring off. After a month, and seeing no sign of transfer, I removed
the sheet. Its been fine for the past year.
I will dye the Driver seat before it goes into the S1, and I have to dye the
brown dashboard too. The only problem Ive encountered with the dye is that
a color change is difficult if its in a high-use area.
My center console (which was baby-blue) has a few 'chips' showing thru where
something hit the console and gauged it.
