A3 Golf wagon?

While driving through the airbase that I am working at I keep seeing what
looks like an A3 Golf stretched out to the length of a station wagon. 
Has anyone heard of this before?  Since I am presently in Las Vegas and
close to Mexico, could this be some Mexican spec car that was brought up
here?
