cold running problem. . . help

HEllo everyone,

I know similar threads have come up periodically so
you guys have a wealth of knowledge on this one :) 
I've got a 'rocco that's not running good when cold. 
It starts up fine, but immediately dies if you take
your foot off the gas.  Does this for about 1 minute
after you first start it when cold and then runs fine.
 The car is at the shop presently, and they are
scratching their heads.  Any help would be
appreciated.
