The locks on my 86 went a couple of years ago and I went for the switch in
the door first but it turned out to be the motor itself. Check the switch in
the door with a voltmeter first. If it is not that then pull the motor. (it
is under the rear window wash bottle in the far back right corner in a
little foam pouch) I pulled the motor from a audi slightly different shape
but same connector and function.

By the way fellow listers my friendly parts guy (Norbet @ king's VW in
Brooklyn New York presented me with the microfiche's for MY Scirocco 84-89
and my Quantum Syncro and My Cabby so now I am on the lookout for a
microfiche reader Anyone know of a available unit?
