<x-charset iso-8859-1>The 1.8T would be a good choice.  Whether longitudinally mounted out
transversely.  The longitudinally mounted motor would be very similar to
taking a Fox motor and putting it in you Scirocco.  You may have to do
something a little different with the turbo, but the swap shouldn't be tough
either way.
