Ya - my 84 has no wiper.  I have seen an 82 in a yard
w/o one and one with one, so apparently it was an
option on the early MKII 8v;s.  If you are looking for
a whole new hatch, you could look for the small wing
too.  In MHO it looks a lot cleaner that the big ol
runners up the sides on the 16v wing....
