Take a deep breath and repeat after me:

"euro bumpers.  euro bumpers.  euro bumpers!!!!!!"

Sure they're expensive.  But IMHO they are one of THE essential upgrades that
BEGS to be done to a Mk2.  The cosmetic improvement is WAY dramatic, and 
they're a helluva lot lighter than the huge US turds.

Oh yeah - and this will solve your trim piece problem too!
